April 13 Home Game Preview
Grand Raggidy Roller Derby will be hitting the track Saturday, April 13th, hosting Flint Roller Derby and Ann Arbor Roller Derby’s Ypsilanti Vigilantes in a doubleheader held at MSA Woodland. The All Stars face off against Flint and the Attack take on Ann Arbor.
The All Stars are looking to redeem themselves after suffering a close defeat against the Royal City Brute Leggers in their home opener 152-130. Blocker-extraordinaire Wingett, returns to the All Star lineup reinforcing a blocking crew which is already well-built and resilient, led by the All Stars co-captain, Sugarpants. Twelve-year veteran Lucy Morals and UltraFox will be leading the jammer duties, while Peach Clobber and Double Clutch will round out a solid scoring front. Flint Roller Derby is coming off their first sanctioned game in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) with a 195-138 win against Fort Wayne, continuing their momentum of a four-game win streak, highlighted by a hair-raising win against Kalamazoo 221-217. Alongside dominant jammer Ash Tray, and seasoned blockers, H 2 Whoa, SlapHer Sally, and Duncan GoNuts, Flint Roller Derby will be hungry to ascend in the rankings as they march into Grand Rapids to battle Lucy Morals, Ringo Deathstarr, Bette Mangler, and the rest of the Grand Raggidy All Stars.

Grand Raggidy Attack will be coming off a loss to the Royal City Rum Runners in their season opener 276-102, a substantial improvement from their last meeting, but leaving them hungry for a win. Attack will be led by a solid four-jammer rotation including Dos Cinco, Ann O’Steel, Misty MeanHer, and Attack co-captain, Dutchruction. Dos Cinco is an athlete to watch as she led the jammer scoring with forty-seven points last game and has swiftly improved her skill. With co-captain Knight of Slamalot, the blocking charge will be ignited by Attack veteran Vibrant Vengeance, Eleanor Wreckby, Shoggi, and Geez-Louise. According to Knight of Slamalot, Attack has made a few changes and worked on some different blocking tactics which have held up strong in practice and scrimmages, hopefully carrying over that success against Ypsilanti Vigilantes, a strong affiliate with the Ann Arbor Derby Dimes.
